Art is a living, breathing expression of who I am, and sharing it with others brings me immense joy. Over the past months, I have been deeply involved in several exciting art activities and exhibits that reflect my evolving style and passion. This post highlights these current projects, offering a glimpse into the locations, dates, and unique features of each event. I also share personal reflections on what these experiences mean to me as an artist.

Gallery Exhibit at the Cumming Arts Center

One of the most rewarding experiences recently was participating in the group exhibit at the Cumming Arts Center. The current theme is "Muse" and I have added 3 unique pieces. My art identity is being defined, and some of the 200+ artists say they can recognize my style even before they walk over to see the piece close enough to read my initials. CLC That really creates a bit of fun as I'm also beginning to recognize artists work before approaching their work closely.

My Role and Contributions

The next theme coming up in January 2026 at the Cumming Arts Center is one that I created the theme of! I came up with "Nostalgia" and I'm so excited to see the gallery lit up with amazing memories from each artist. I fell right back into New York City where I spent a good portion of my life. A previous exhibit featured "Central Park" and you could have blown me over with a breath of air when I found out I had won an Honorable Mention ribbon! My work for the January Nostalgia exhibit includes "The Big Apple", a wooden story board of 9/11, (very hard to create as it hurts so much still), and a self portrait I made in 1973. It is interesting because my father was a soul singer, and I grew up with a diverse ethnic crowd of friends and families. I didn't even understand my own race. (The soul singer is the big clue).

Unique Aspects of the Exhibit

What made this exhibit stand out was the interactive element. One book that I cr4ated titled, "From Doodle to Draw", attracted many local artists and families visiting the gallery to put their own creative juices to work. Visitors could use the markers I provided on a table in the art gallery. This interaction added a dynamic layer to the experience, making the exhibit more than just a visual display. The book is available on Amazon. https://a.co/d/0wog7u3

Personal Insights

Seeing people respond to my work in real time was inspiring. It reminded me why I create art: to connect and communicate beyond words. The feedback helped me understand how different viewers interpret my pieces, which will influence my future projects.

Courthouse Exhibit 2026

My Role and Contributions

I worked alongside many talented local artists to create an exhibit at the Cumming courthouse Feb 2026. I went with a different concept. It is called "The Industrial Evolution" and helps the public understand my perspective on nature and the loss of earthly beauty and highlighting how the modern age has been defined by Industry. This style of art will be surreal.
