Community Art Workshop
Please be on the lookout for an upcoming art class using your own jewelry and jewelry that I can sell at extremely reasonable prices. We will talk about the value of costume jewelry, determine if the jewelry is real gold, silver with specific tools that will be used during the class. Shadow boxes and glue will be provided. One of the MOST special pieces created was with my mother in laws jewelry, (after her passing), and by putting her jewelry on display now my husband can also enjoy her jewelry each day as it is displayed on our wall and not stuffed in a drawer. He even chose photos that we added into it. There is already a line forming to attend and participate in this class.
Unique Aspects of the Workshop
The workshops are designed to be inclusive and accessible, welcoming people of all ages and experience levels. They emphasize process over product, helping participants enjoy the act of creating without pressure.
Personal Insights
Teaching art has deepened my appreciation for creativity as a tool for personal growth. Witnessing participants discover new talents and confidence is incredibly rewarding. These sessions also inspire me by exposing me to fresh ideas and perspectives. I'm always a student of art and everyone and everything is my teacher. Pablo Picasso's famous quote about children is: "Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up". I look forward to attending art classes with the Cumming Arts Center, and the Sexton Hall Senior Center.
Art is a journey that constantly evolves through new experiences and connections. These current exhibits and activities reflect different facets of my practice, from gallery shows to public art and community engagement. Each opportunity enriches my understanding of art’s role in society and fuels my passion to keep creating.
